The Claude Code Marketing Reference Sheet

Claude Code is Anthropic’s official CLI the same Claude you talk to in a browser, except wired into your terminal where it can read your files, run commands, and chain into anything else on your machine. For marketers, that turns brand briefs, campaign data and email sequences into inputs to a single scriptable creative engine.

Here are the 11 commands and shell patterns that do most of the work. Crucially, every one has been verified against claude --help most AI-generated cheat sheets floating around invent flags that don’t actually exist (--pipe, --batch, -e  none of these are real). This one is.

The Claude Code Marketing Reference Sheet — 11 verified commands and shell patterns for marketers

How to read it

  • Slash commands (/init, /memory, /clear) run inside a live Claude session.
  • CLI flags (-p, -c, --model) you type before launching Claude from your terminal.
  • Shell patterns (cat file | claude -p, > output.md, for f in *.txt) are how you chain Claude with everything else — file inputs, file outputs, batch loops. These aren’t Claude features; they’re standard shell composition. That’s the unlock.

Commands are syntax. Knowing when to chain them is the actual skill.
