In 2020 it is still possible to grow on Instagram for free and using no bots. Follow for follow still works in 2020. You just have to do it right. You have to use targeted follow for follow in order for it to be successful and for you to grow fast. The best way to grow your first 1000 followers on Instagram is by starting a theme page and using follow for follow!

A theme page is basically the industry name for a repost page where you repost the most viral content. You find content by seeing what did well for other pages in your niche and reposting it.

Then to get your first 1000 followers you want to use targeted follow for follow. This means find pages similar to yours and go follow the people who liked their most recent post. This way you are following engaged users and will have a much better follow conversion rate.

You do however want to limit the amount of people that you follow as following too many can get you action blocked. If action blocked you should stop following people for a while (a day or two) and then resume after. If you find yourself constantly getting action blocked then stop following people.

Once you start hitting the explore page and ranking on hashtags you can stop using follow for follow as it will no longer be the most effective growth method and has achieved its goal of growing your page to be big enough to rank.
